Family Fun Day

The Guyana Cultural Association of New York, Inc. organizes a Family Fun Day as part of its efforts to engage the Guyanese community and promote cultural activities. Family Fun Day events typically feature a variety of activities suitable for all ages, aimed at bringing families and communities together in a fun and festive atmosphere.

GCA’s family fun day features: 

1. Cultural Performances: Live music, dance performances, and theatrical presentations showcasing Guyanese culture and talent.

2. Food and Refreshments: Traditional Guyanese and Caribbean cuisine and refreshments available for purchase, allowing attendees to enjoy authentic flavors and culinary delights.

3. Games and Activities: Various games and activities for children and adults, such as sack races, tug-of-war, relay races, face painting, storytelling, Maypole dancing, and arts and crafts.

4. Sports Tournaments: Competitions in popular Guyanese sports such as cricket, soccer, and volleyball may be organized to encourage community participation and teamwork.

5. Vendor Booths: Stalls and booths selling Guyanese handicrafts, clothing, jewelry, artwork, and other merchandise provide opportunities for local artisans and entrepreneurs to showcase their products.
